Diary Dates

Dear Parents & Carers,

The Year 6 children have been sitting their Reading and Maths SAT’s this week with their Writing assessments taking place later in the term. On Monday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings we hosted breakfast for the children. This was to provide them with a calm, healthy and nutritious start to their day. It was a very popular event which many children attended, they enjoyed cereals and lots of fruits.

The children have worked extremely hard and I am very proud of the effort they have put into their learning so far this year.

Year 4 children visited the Science Museum on Monday. They spent the day looking around the museum at many of the exhibits and enjoyed using the interactive zones to learn more about Science. They
experienced the Launch Pad exhibit which has more than 50 interactive sections all from the world of physics. Launch Pad is about asking questions and making sense of the way things work.

Next week Year 1 will be visiting Westfield Stratford City. This is linked to their current learning topic, Bread. They will be looking at different types of bakeries and the products they sell.

Year 5 will be visiting the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Neasden. This is the first traditional Hindu Mandir in Europe. It took just under 3 years to build, with 2000 tonnes of Italian Carara marble and 2820
tonnes of Bulgarian limestone being shipped to India and carved by over 1500 craftsmen before arriving in London. The children will be learning about the Mandir’s history and meaning and about the Hindu
religion.

I would like to remind all parents/carers that school will be closed on the 25th May as it is an INSET day and also we will be having whole school photographs on Monday 11th June, please make sure all children are
dressed in full school uniform.

Kindest regards, Prue Barnes
