New admin vacancies on our team
We have today posted details on our web site about three new administration posts across our school and children centre.
If you have the right skills and want to help deliver the changes at our school and support the learning of our children, then have a look at our vacancies page on the main school website.
We look forward to getting your application. If you have any questions, just ask?
Parent/Carer forum minutes available
We have recently posted the minutes of the Parent/Carer Forum meeting held on the 25th February 2010.
You can see the details of what was discussed and what it was that those participating in the meeting asked questions about.
You can find the text on our Parent and Carer Forum page.
Thank you to everyone who took part.
Giving for others – thank you
Just a quick blog entry to say thank you to everyone who helped us raise over £600 for the Haiti Earthquake Fund on our recent non-uniform day.
This was great and will add your own contribution to those of everyone around the world helping to relieve the suffering of the Haitian islanders.
Thank you everyone for a great day too.
World Book Day
Don’t forget that World Book Day is on the 4th March 2010 too.
We love books at Newport School and the World Book Day website is well worth a visit.
You can find places to redeem your vouchers, play some games and just find out about this great book occasion.
Keep reading at Newport School. (You can find the World Book Day school resources page here).
Parent/Carer Forum 25th February
Our next Parent/Carer forum will be held on the 25th February at 6.00pm.
We will have the opportunity to discuss the recent Ofsted Report for the school.
Prue Barnes will still be available as normal for the Parent’s Friday morning coffee session.
We look forward to seeing you at these school events.
We need an Urdu speaker
We have a current vacancy for an Urdu speaking Family Support Worker.
You will be helping families and children to access our services and get the best from our services and their experience of education at Newport.
Working for 15 hours per week, we are looking for a person to provide support and guidance to Urdu speaking families at our school and Children Centre.
You can find more details and how to apply on the vacancies page of our school web site.
Come and join the Newport Team.
Ofsted Reports
We have today published a copy of our recent Ofsted report on our Ofsted page on the school website.
Parents, carers and children can see a letter from the Lead Inspector, as well as a downloadable copy of a version of the report.
There is also a link to the pre-inspection information we published last year.
You can also find a copy of our latest governor report, a letter from our Chair – detailing the improvements that have already started.
Getting the picture?
Simon Thistle has taken some great photographs of our school. These are now available to view on our new school gallery page.
You can see from the images the range of resources we offer at school, some of our spaces and a number of our children enjoying their time as learners at Newport School.
If you would like to see more galleries of activity at the school, or just want to make a comment about our blog, let us know – you can use the comment box on this post or visit the ‘contact us page’ on our main website for one click messaging.
Children Centre Coffee Morning
We are holding a coffee morning, starting at 9.00am on Tuesday 9th February 2010, where you can drop in and let us know your ideas and suggestions for our Centre.
We are holding the event next to the Toy Library on the school site. Drop by and see what we are up to and how you can contribute to the changes at our our Centre.
You’ll be most welcome.
