Helping each other!

Did you know you can quickly see our school holidays and absence figures by visiting our on-line version of SpeakEasy.

We have been working together as a school to find ways to improve our attendance record.  The children at Newport have been thinking about different ways to encourage all children to attend school everyday and improve attendance to go beyond 95%.

In July the class with the best attendance will be going on a special trip with the Head teacher and her two Deputies.

Next year there will be termly certificate award assemblies for 100% attendance – and possibilities of special treats throughout the year for those classes with best and best improved attendance.

We are sending letters to parents/carers of children whose attendance is below 94% to emphasise the importance of attending school to give children the best chance of success.

Help us help your children.
