Teaching vacancy at Newport School
Newport is a school focused on improvement; Ofsted has recognised this and reported that;
‘…a positive culture of improvement now pervades the school and staff morale is strengthening as the new school leadership tackles under-achievement with vigour. Excellent relationships across the school are securing high levels of commitment from the vast majority of stakeholders’.
We are looking for an ambitious, talented and forward thinking middle leader to join our successful leadership team, to help us on our journey to become a successful school.
A Year Group Leader who is an excellent classroom teacher, helping pupils achieve their best and supporting colleagues – keen to grow your leadership skills.
Have a look on our school vacancies page here.
See the job specification, our school policy statements and download the application form too.
We look forward to receiving your application at Newport School.
New ‘power’ resources
The National Grid have created a new website which is aimed at inspiring engineers and scientists.
Designed for children from 4 to 11, as well as growing sections for parents, carers, volunteers and teachers too.
Younger children will find a section where they can find stories and activities they can use at home with parents and carers. For older children there are presentations, activities and experiments.
Children can find out about energy, forces and materials in a fun and informative way. The site is nicely designed with a black backgound to the pages and some rich graphics and contrasting bold colours for the content.
Have you got a budding scientist or engineer in the house?
This site can help them explore the basic frameworks that help make up our physical world.

Ofsted Reports
We have today published a copy of our recent Ofsted report on our Ofsted page on the school website.
Parents, carers and children can see a letter from the Lead Inspector, as well as a downloadable copy of a version of the report.
There is also a link to the pre-inspection information we published last year.
You can also find a copy of our latest governor report, a letter from our Chair – detailing the improvements that have already started.
